I didn't care for living in Uptown and moved over to off of Lower Greenville in the M streets. If you can get a house to rent or one of the newer town homes being built near the park I'd try for that. You have everything you need in walking distance there.

Knox/Henderson has apartments and town homes that are fairly nice and aren't too expensive on both sides of 75.

There have also been a ton of apartments and town homes built near Deep Ellum in the last few years that might be worth looking into. I work down in that area and its really cleaned up the last several years. The Farmers Marker is right nearby and there are quite a few places there to live as well.

I have a friend that lives downtown in one of the old department stores that has been converted to an apartment building and thats also a pretty cool area to live in. Downtown has gradually been picking up even though its still kind of dead.

Suggested Ross at 75.

My roommate and I were the 3rd ones to rent at Park at Farmer's Market when it opened.
