There is charged with a crime... and what the frick were you doing when you were in charge?

One is punished with time in jail.

The other is punished by shunning. We expected better from Joe Pa then a child rapist. Well, we were wrong.

Spin it all the directions you want but when confronted with the idea that his close friend was raping children Joe Paterno... blinked. And it kept happening.

You want to talk about the greatest coach in college football? If he had come out, made the cops investigate, and condemned this when it first happened we would be talking about Joe Paterno like he was a saint. He didn't.

I am a PSU fan but you can go through my post history. I've never defended Paterno.

To say that Paterno and Sandusky were close friends is absurd. I lived in State College and it was pretty well known that they didn't really care for each other. When Sandusky retired Paterno didn't bother to show up to his retirement dinner. Paterno only talked with Sandusky one time after he had retired.

Joe Paterno is guilty in so far as it was happening under his watch. While he did his part (legally speaking) with the Sandusky incident in 2002, he most definitely could have pressed the issue further given his stature on campus and in the state of Pennsylvania. However, this idea that he actively helped cover for Sandusky for all those years is a different matter. As the prosecutors in the Sandusky trial have stated, there is absolutely no proof of that ever having happened.

The truth is always somewhere in the middle. I do not believe Paterno was the monster many of you claim. But do I think he is totally clean? No.
