I've been one of the bigger AJ defenders on this board (by my own estimation). It's time to start ramping up Harris' reps. Yes, Jennings was hurt by some very, very untimely drops but I just don't think he's our answer going forward outside of being a serviceable to good backup. Let's try and see exactly what Harris is made of.

You've seen him in one full game and limited mop up duty and you came to this brilliant conclusion...all on your own no less?

Let's not all act like Welter was starting and Beckwith was clearly flawless. It's obvious the light has come on for Beckwith and that was a recent thing.

Definitely. Early on, he was getting a lot of PT and was far from impressive (but that doesn't fit the narrative). I'm glad this light has come on. Dude is an animal.

right...but he still would have been a better option in a lot games than the alternative. Just like BH, he should have been thrown out there and let him take his lumps and grow up.

FWIW, and I take this with a grain of salt, Moscona mentioned on his show yesterday that he's heard from multiple sources that BH flat out relayed the wrong play several times in the Auburn game.

If knowing the playbook is an issue, you can't expect BH to get much playing time. From the coaches point of view, you can't have half a QB and give him limited plays either.

Maybe it's a work ethic thing

I have no clue how you could possibly make this determination and neither do you.

I disagree and the two are far from analogous.

This has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever read in quite some time, congrats.

Here is the rebuttal I keep using for anyone who says they should split time.

Are you ok with losing to A&M and Arkansas? If so, then I agree. If you want to win out, then shut the frick up and let the coaches decided who gives up the best chance to win.

Personally, I think we stand a good chance of losing to Arkansas and/or A&M with the offensive gameplan we have now, so splitting time between the QBs can't be worse.

Miles MUST not have a want to embrace the future at the expense of the current opportunity that presents itself before him.

8-24 for 80 yds one would think

Don't see how it could be any worse

I saw a team in Auburn go to the BCS title game running about 5 plays. Maybe the playbook is too complicated and needs to be tailored for both players.

So you're admitting that you want to hand the reigns off to an unknown commodity based on a gamble?

Technically speaking, I suppose it COULD get worse. However, it is hard to see that happening. Both QBs are efficient at handing the ball off. Jennings is giving up turnovers (3 INTs in the last 3 games), so the argument that he won't cost us games is null.

Harris may not have known the playbook well at Auburn, however, it is unreasonable to assume he has made NO progress since then. And we have no evidence to support that claim since he has not been given a chance. My biggest concern is the experience argument, but that has been beaten to death.

If you need experience to play but are never given any because you don't have enough experience to perform (per the coaches), how will you ever have a fair shot at playing?
