Cassandra, Blackwall and Solas
Posted on 11/24/14 at 10:10 am to FT
Seriously, though, someone needs to talk to me about this.
I fricking hate that I'm in those Pajama looking clothes the whole time I'm walking around my castle.

Cassandra or blackwall for taunts
Iron bull for chain and horn of valor
Vivienne for healing/Sera for dps
I'm a lightning/fire mage with improved barrier. I'll bring viv if I need a 2nd barrier cause. my dagger rogue keeps dying

I'm a rogue (dual daggers and stealth only) and party with Cassandra (kept her as sword and shield) Blackwall (made him a 2 handed sword monster) and Solas (spec'do him mostly in spirit but has multiple skills in the other disciplines)
I'm playing in hard and haven't had any trouble so far with this build. I don't quite understand where people are going wrong with those having issue with Rogue. I took down the hinterland frostback dragon without too much hardship. I just got Skyhold though so I'm sure it will become more difficult.
I'm debating being an archer or warrior next go around.

Hard:
I am a mage-Lightning/Fire
General Party: Varric, Iron Bull, Dorian
Boss Party: Cassandra, Iron Bull, Dorian
Lightning is so fun. Static cage(with damage upgrade) + Energy Barrage = a ton of damage. And throw in the focus ball(whatever that thing is called) and you are doing thousands of damage in no time.

I got some rings of immolate, so I use that. Same concept though, lightning cage then immolate . Panicked and paralyzed enemies, then barrier and win

Can someone tell me if the Oasis is nothing but me running around collecting shards?
I know the temple at the end probably has some bad guys, but is there anything to really do in the desert?

Pretty much. The temple is a mega quest tho that will take the whole game to complete. There is 1 fade rift in the desert
Some side quests exist deep down in the oasis
The terrain and caves makes it a bitch to fully clead.

I finished "In Hushed Whispers" last night and feel like I have gone too fast with the story. I am only level 8 and am about 80% done with the Hinterlands, and haven't really been anywhere else.

No shite?
Well, that settles that. I was just trying to grind a little bit before marching up the mountain to seal the breach, but the desert wasn't doing much for me. I'm level 11. That's good enough to seal the breach and get my castle, right?
ETA: Post above answers that question.
I've cleared the hinterlands and the fallow mire.

I was wondering about some type of housing, hopefully we can customize it. I want my castle!!!!

I didn't finish that quest until level 12. I cleared mire and oasis and storm coast almost fully before moving on the main quest.
There is a lot to do in those areas
The boss fight for closing the breach is tough. I did it on hard and had hardly any potions. I Kited with barrier and revived when I could for 15 minutes
I recommend doing as much as possible from the war table for xp and power before advancing the main quest

Chose the templars over the mages. Holy shite that mission was fricked.

Yeah, I think most of us chose the mages and that mission was so crazy.

I swear this day has lasted at least 46 hours.

By the way...Bioware...if you're going to put 3-4 paragraphs of lore for me to read on your load screen, don't fade to black (yet continue loading) after 10 seconds.
I bet there is some really interesting shite in there. Too bad I'll never know.

Ha! Never noticed that because I'm rolling on a SSD.

Life was so much better when I moved this game to the SSD.

I'm a console peasant and have no idea what you're talking about, nor how it addresses my problem.
