Completely unnecessary for them to do that.

i'm legit pissed. no reason for them to take a great character, turn him to complete shite and kill him within 40 minutes.

I really loved the conversation with the Princeton student. I think it was a great representation of how much of a mess the entire deal is. I also liked the twist that Will was talking to his father the entire time.
So sad about Charlie. I actually didn't like how much he had given in, but that is inevitable when reality of life really does kick your moral compass in the balls repeatedly.
I also think based on the promo for next week, the story is about the how WIll and others respond intellectually and emotionally to Charlie's capitulation, and I think the parallel will be with them perhaps discussing Lily Hart's suicide as well. In other words, I think there will be far more in-depth discussion about it, and then it won't just be left hanging as a convenient plot prop.

The people that refuse to watch this show because they can't put their political beliefs to the side and allow themselves to be entertained for 50 minutes once a week are really missing out.

I could tell Charlie was headed for a massive coronary from the first episode of the series

He deserved a better song to die to.

This is a rare show in that it's continually gotten better and better as it's gone on. The politics took a major backseat after season 1 in favor of the characters, too.
It's unfair to say that Charlie dying was unnecessary until we see how his death factors into wrapping the show up. My only reservation to his conclusion is that they didn't show a slower transition from moral martyr to corporate mouthpiece. He seemed to flip overnight.

I wonder if they will show what happened during the 52 days that the show jumped.

Interesting bit from the episode...that piece on ACNgage was based on an actual interview by Kimmel on CNN

You should watch the actual video of Kimmel doing it to Gawker posted earlier in this thread. It was epic.
