Wait what? As you said we are severely limited at QB. I agree. Where I take issue is that you seem to suggest poor ole Les is saddled with it, that it was something totally out of his control.

Les is responsible for recruiting including QB's, Les is responsible for ensuring at every position inducing QB there are kids developed enough to execute an even modest passing attack. Les is responsible along with yet staff to develop QB's.

If as you state we are limited at a QB, Les needs to look in the mirror.

If Miles had a handle on the d, Bama would never had moved the ball. LSU wins.

Most of the time he IS out coached and out schemed. Luckily, he gets elite Louisiana talent that can usually out talent most other teams with lesser talent.

Give Miles the same talent as most of the teams we play and he's a 60-65% winning percentage coach.

Because Cam Cameron was not near as creative as Lane K. Alabama ran multiple formations while LSU the I or mostly 3 or 4 receiver set must pass situations. It was like giving them the play and saying stop me if you can type offense.

The nations best run defense was pounded all night long and gave up over twice their average.

LSU ran 56 times for a 3.3 yd. aver. Mostly power I with a loaded box. Why not take advantage of you seasoned O-line and spread them out and run or different run schemes.

LSU is severely limited at QB

That has a lot to do with play calling. Receivers running basic routes, Alabama knowing its a pass most the time. Why not mix it up and cause more miss assignments, picks, crossing routes, etc.

LSU defense played outstanding but the offense not some much. Saban knew exactly what was coming from Miles. Miles is a ground and pound coach and QB's are there to hand the ball off...not much more. If it works then he's a hero but if it doesn't then LSU is at a huge disadvantage.

LSU's coaches called a great game. They got exactly the type of game they wanted, a low scoring slug fest, the type of game LSU could win with a severely limited QB.

The only thing you can second guess is the play calling in the OT. LSU had avoided putting their fate in the QB's hands the whole night and that might have been a good time to start. It's almost like knowing a TD was needed caused a little panic.

Both teams were prepared.
We just come up a little short.

Sucks though when you have lead with under a min to play and some below avg qb leads his team down to kick a chip shot fg.
