1. Philly
2. Arizona
3. Green Bay
4. New Orleans
5. Seattle
6. San Francisco

Notes:

Philly isn't great (especially with their QB out), but the NFC East is much weaker than the West.

Arizona has only played one division game to date. They can't get through the West without 2-3 losses

Green Bay could get the No.1 seed, but right now they're just too inconsistent

NOLA - someone has to win that bad division

Detroit has been very fortunate in the last few weeks. Very easily could be 4-4. Their good fortune won't last.

SF. Until they don't make the playoffs under Harbaugh, I can't count them out.

Arizona is going to win the #1 seed and if they don't than it's pretty much an open competition between all the division leaders and eventual winners

I could any of these teams getting the #1 seed if Arizona collapses

Philly, Dallas, Green Bay, New Orleans, Seattle

who finishes hot down the stretch...gut tells me it's NOLA, so probably GB

Having to play without Megatron is fortunate?

...and yet, they are 6-2 and on top of the division with statistically the #1 defense in the NFL.

Megatron is back on Sunday.

megatron didn't prevent them from collapsing down the stretch last year.

Last year they also had a mediocre (at best) defense, no #2 wide receiver with a pulse, and a completely different coaching staff.

I'll take (division winners in no particular order):

Seattle
Green Bay
New Orleans
Philadelphia

Arizona
Dallas

Seattle repeats.

Okay? He also had 5k+ yards and 40+ TDs when they made the playoffs.

I laugh at anyone who thinks Detroit will win their division.

He's played like poo this year and they're still 6-2. Difference between this year and last year is that the Lions has a defense that can save them.

You still sound salty as hell about the Saints/Lions game.

Then you pick Minnesota (with Teddy Bridgewater) to make the playoffs?!?

No. Being gifted - and I do mean gifted - back-to-back wins is fortunate.

The Lions have one good win all season (week 2 or 3 vs. GB). Otherwise, they've beaten bad teams, been gifted wins, and lost to bad teams. I could easily see them losing 4-5 of their last 8 games.

It's a mirage. A fluke. A flash in the pan.

Is that your schtick? To bring the Saints into every NFL discussion?

5th in opp passing yards
2nd in opp rushing yards
1st in total points against (126)

Sounds like a fluke to me.

I have no idea what you are getting at with this lame point. They play who is on their schedule.

quote:

been gifted wins,

How many games total in an NFL season are decided by a TD or less? A number of teams have 'gifted' games throughout 9 weeks, if that is what you want to call it.

As I have said in many posts prior, the Lions 'gifted' Buffalo their win. But no one brings that up...doesn't fit your narrative.

What I'm getting at is that when they play who is on their schedule next, which happen to be good teams (Dolphins, Cardinals, Patriots), they will lose. All three of those games, I predict, they will lose.

They're good defensively, no one's denying that. But it's also true that the only good team they've stopped is the Packers.

not at all, I was getting infuriated at Schwartz last year when he "saved" bush and megatron in the game against the giants with the playoffs on the line

traditionally, Detroit sucks, so I like them. Also, a GB/Det game on thanksgiving is probably my favorite non saints game of the year, and I never find myself rooting for Detroit.

"Gifted wins"...

If forcing Brees to go 3-14 down the stretch, dominating the entire second half of the Atlanta game and driving the ball 68 yards with 1:30 left just to be in position to kick a GW FG is "gifted"...

and? I suspect you'll be singing a different tune if they beat green bay next week, and Detroit goes 0-2 over that stretch (Miami and Arizona).
