from a douche wearing sunglasses at night downtown. just as i figgered, he had zero ties to Bama (from New Orleans). I never understood the New Orleans hate for LSU

New Orleans houses Tulane...Tulane hates LSU.
I have solved this problem for you. Not hard.
FWIW...he's probably some Bama bandwagon douchebag. don't take it too seriously.

It's really overstated. LSU still rules the city.
But New Orleans just happens to be, along with places like Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, etc., a destination for lots of SEC grads (Ole Miss/Bama) and there's a contingent of rich uptown folk that scoff at the notion of sending their kids to Baton Rouge for their higher education. Way too common for their refined tastes.

pretty accurate. those types of folks pull for whomever his good at the moment and act like that's their all time favorite team (until they lose and then they pull for the next great thing). pretty sure he jumped on the bandwagon when saban got there

Last Saturday I walked into Razzoo about 1 pm with a UGA friend of mine and this guy walks dead up to my face and says, "Hail State"
All I could do was laugh. In my entire life, that was the first time I was ever "Hail Stated"

Welcome to the early 1980s.
Seriously, though, NOLA used to be like another country relative to Baton Rouge.

I woulda given him my best kazoo impression of State's band followed by "Goahuh Stayyut" x 2.

Should it be 'rolled tide' or 'roll tided'? I would prolly go with the latter.

Waking around NOLA on 1/9/12 before the game was a jarring experience. 60/40 Bama fans, to say the least. So much for all that black and gold (Saints played on 1/7) turning to purple and gold. I was like, am I really only 70 miles from BR and being outnumbered by Alabama fans??

New Orleans folk are just different.

The correct response is '''round the bowl, down the hole!"
