Sounds like you're talking about changing the lie angle, not the loft.

The loft is the angle of the club face. For example, my PW has 46 degrees of loft.

The lie angle is the angle formed by the sole of the club and the shaft.

And don't try bending your clubs if they are cast. Forged irons will bend. Cast will probably crack.
