Need advice for trapping and killing hogs

I've never hunted or trapped hogs so I would appreciate some advice.
Bottom land at the farm full of hogs though the hogs are more plentiful in adjacent bottom land because it has more brush and cover. Our bottom land is mostly hackberry and bois d'arc, and not a lot of ground cover at all.
We ride horses all through the bottom and I see a lot of hogs. I want to lure them into a trap. What is the best trap for getting a group of hogs? What is the best bait?
I thought about calling some hunters with dogs but the neighbors don't want hog hunting on their property.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm not interested in the meat. I'm interested in revenge - one of our hunting hounds got killed by one.

I'm game for an OB hog hunt, especially if someone had one of those large portable traps. There are a lot of hogs, and best I can tell, they aren't being hunted on the adjacent properties. The farm is about 50 miles northeast of Dallas. The bottom land is about a mile or so from my parents' house.

I have several traps right now just sitting. I need to sell off a few traps. I am headed right past you Sat. Let me know if you are interested and I can probably work something out to bring one or more your way.

For tge nice corral traps with panels, t posts, and walk through spring door, I think I have about 350 in materials alone. I would take 250 for one though.

That's a great deal, BP. If the guy is serious, he better jump on that.

We have a backhoe that we use to dig a hole 8x8 and about 4 feet deep with very straight sides we leave a column of dirt in the center that we put corn on. Hogs will go into the hole to try to get the corn and they cant get out. We shoot them and lift them out with backhoe or the loader on the tractor. Reapply corn and come back in a few days.
If deer go into the hole they can jump out but the hogs cannot.
We killed over 200 this summer that way, some of them were piglets who went into hole to be with mom.
Works great!
