When will he either remember how to shoot or get sat down for someone who can actually contribute? He shooting around 21% on fg for the year so far. What a waste of money. No wonder we can't trade a 6'2" shooting guard who can't score but has a max contract. I guess hindsight is 20/20 on this one. Just have to hope he turns it around soon.

He's sucked bad on offense but he's been very good defensively.
I'll give him credit for that.

That 14 mil guarantees offense, but it just isn't there ... I feel like he'd be better coming off the bench with our rotations.

They have to try something. I can't see this team winning games against good teams consistently with your two guard putting up goose eggs night in and night out.

he averaged 15 PPG last season pretty efficiently.
...he's just going through a bad slump, and is now anxious to get the shots falling.
the defensive effort is encouraging.
If he gets back to last season's form offensively, and Ryno and Jrue finish shaking off the rust, it's gonna be a good team

only 4 games and the only way to go is up. Shooting 20%
PPG APG RPG PER
5.8 0.8 3.5 -0.51
nearly 15 million per season

I'm not worried about EG at all. He started off the season in a shooting slump, which will not last very long IMO. It's more of a confidence thing than anything else. Once he hits a few his rhythm and confidence will be back. The reason why I'm not worried about him is because of what I'm seeing from him on the defensive side. He's putting forth a lot of effort and in basketball if you want to see if a player's heart is in the game you look at the effort the player is putting forth defensively. I'm actually surprised by his effort defensively. His offensive game will come around soon enough. We're only 4 games into the season. If he's still putting up poor offensive numbers around game 20, then I'll start to worry.

2 million dollars per made shot is not a good ratio so far

Yeah, this really shouldn't be overlooked. If EG gets his mojo back and Tyreke starts hitting 3s, "do we need a SF more than Gordon?" might become a legit question. I think the answer is still yes, but you still might ask it which is unexpected.
He averaged 15 points a game last year, if he hits that vs. Dallas we win, vs. Memphis we lose by 1 instead of 12, but the fact that he's producing would have changed the whole dynamic too and we could be sitting at 4-0 if Gordon wasn't slumping.

this is a good summary of the situation
LINK
this is all, for better or worse, on monty. he didnt ask for his highest paid player to struggle, but now its up to him to do something to make it better. leaving the situation as is (starting EG/playing him 30 mins) with a "let him shoot his way out" mentality is a failure of leadership in my view. i hope they are working on solutions

Gordon's massive contract makes this decision tougher than other similar situations, but Monty is paid big dollars to make these types of decisions. Inserting Rivers into the starting lineup would require Monty to stagger lineups so that there is a ball handler on the court with Gordon because he is just too careless with the ball while dribbling. I propose that at a minimum, the Pels give Rivers 28 minutes (up from his 22 minute per game average) and drop Gordon to 20-22 minutes per game (down from his 32.8!) until he starts showing some semblance of the NBA player formerly known as Eric Gordon.

I understand what you're saying, but EG has been very strong defensively which is the only reason why I would be against reducing his minutes. Even with his offensive struggles, he is a better option than Rivers b/c of the great defense he's been play thus far. Like I said in my previous post, give him a little more time and his offensive game will come around. We are only 4 games into the season. Just b/c he's in a slump early that's not a reason to reduce his minutes yet especially when he's putting forth great effort on the defensive end.

That part of that article is the definition of over reaction.
Eric Gordon (13.2) has a lower career TO rate than both Evans (14) and Holiday (17). Those rates were basically the same last year. And Rivers was only slightly better than Gordon.
The fact is the team doesn't turn it over much because they don't pass it much. That and OREB allow them to overcome poor shooting and a shitty scheme
Gordon is off right now, but acting like he is a TO machine is a fiction. Maybe he doesn't turn it around, but there are thousands of minutes that say we should be more worried about Holiday than Gordon
