It was interesting to see Rivers/Jimmer/Gordon to start the 4th and just how little Gordon was involved. If that's the norm, I don't know what to say at this point. If the plan is to turn Gordon into a corner 3 guy, this season will not have a happy ending for the Pelicans.
Rivers played well, but I'm not sure how sustainable his shooting is. He tries to live in that Parker floater zone, but that's a very, very tough shot. That said, he picked his spots well and the Hornets made it easy for him to get all the way to the rim.

I agree with all of this. Rivers was impressive last night but he was getting into the lane with no opposition from charlotte.
I also think Gordon needs to be a starter on this team. He needs to hit those deep balls to space the floor for this team. starting Rivers does nothing for spacing as he makes his living getting in the paint as well.

The rest of the guards were having difficulty getting to and finishing at the rim. I think you're underselling Rivers' ability to create space for himself. It is the one borderline elite ability he has imo. He's actually finishing left handed this year which is also promising. That floater is a tough shot though, and he will have tough nights with it.
I for the life of me have no earthly idea what Demps was thinking when declining his option. I think Austin's as good as gone after this season. It's hard for me to even get too excited about him playing well, unless we start beating good teams and look to have a shot at the playoffs.
