I dont understand why anyone would want to go to uptown? The trafgic is terrible and the streets are under construction. Not really much to do outside of a few good restaurants and antique shops.

And the Zoo, parks and shopping.
Getting uptown is never really a chore. I usually take the Howard exit and beat the back ups, if Waze tell me it's bad, I'll take Earhart or Airline all the way in.
I get stuck on Manhatten and Barataria as much as I get stuck on Clearview or Vets. Vets flows smoother than Lapalco in most places IMO.
