Anyone hike the Pinhoti Trail in Alabama?

I'm thinking about it. It's 335 miles long. I hiked the AT last year and I'm wanting to get out and do another long hike (but not too long).
I'm curious about the elevation profile. Any info on it would be appreciated.

The portions of it I've hiked in AL have been flat as flat can be.

I grew up at the base of Cheaha, which will be the highest elevation on the trail. It is nice. Just watch for snakes and ticks. Any specific questions? As kids, we played on that trail all the time.

I would like to know about about elevation changes (steepness), water sources along the trail, and places to resupply.
I'll probably end up buying a guidebook for it. Any suggestions?

Here's the elevation profile from the 100 mile race from this weekend. My buddy ran it. I cannot think of a more torturous thing to do, but he's a tough SOB.

Sweet! Thanks for that.
Hmm, that 1500 ft over 5 miles isn't bad at all. I consider "tough" steep to be 1000 ft over 1 mile. I see a few steep slopes . . . 1300 ft over 2.5 miles, 500 ft over a mile and a half or so. Nice climbs but not too bad.
This guy I hiked with for about a month was a long distance racer. After doing a 20 mile day he'd change into his running clothes and jog another five to seven miles.
I was busting my hump one day to get up this very steep, boulder filled mountain and he came in behind me and passed me like a breeze gliding over the boulders. Those kinds of people are a different breed.
