You can't watch 4 episodes of a season and declare it bottom 3. Literally every season is better than this one by default because it has more episodes. That is just a foolish thing to say
I can tell you that each episode i watch gets less funny this season. Not one of these episodes come close to what you expect from South Park. To make things worse, they are basically telling their fans to frick themselves. They don't give a shite anymore. It's a bummer. I feel like Trey Parker was speaking directly to the old school south park fans in the first episode when Cartman walked out on the Stage and said "frick you. Now we will do literally nothing."

I've never seen someone try so hard to be the contrarian basically every time he posts. Does it get old?

People still watch South Park?
It jumped the shark a while ago

I'm not always a contrarian.

It has been declining, but each season had a gem or two of an episode that made it all worth it. And even the bad episodes had a solid joke or two. This season has been horrifically terrible.

You're one of maybe 3 people here who think this. You either have absolutely no sense of humor, or you're just trying to be "that guy." I'll let you pick your own label.

That's just said. As i've stated before, they are in a transition phase. They are losing and phasing out all of their old fans and gaining a new fan base.
Yall really think this season compares to South Park's standards?
The current events format is just shitty to me. South Park used to be general social commentary laced into hilarious plots with well thought out solid story lines driven by the characters.
Now it is a direct current event commentary that pays almost no attention to the actual characters and many of the episodes have no rewatchability. This is because they are no longer subtle. They jam in your face exactly what the episode is about and if you don't know the issue or don't care about the current issue they're specifically talking about, you might as well just turn the television off. And if you go back to rewatch some episodes you have to remember what the current event was at the time before you can even enjoy the show.
A great example of how good the show used to be is the douche v turd episode. Whether or not you know that is about Kerry and Bush it is a great episode. It's timeless commentary on politics. They don't make episodes of that quality anymore, and havent in a while.

I own every single season of South Park. I've watched loyally and religiously since i saw my first episode when i was 11. The decline of this show is miserable to watch.
I'm not saying they have to completely do away with the current events. But for the love of god please give us one random, character driven, hilarious episode with a great script and a solid plot.

Link? I've basically since day one. I still find it hilarious.

I dunno , it's not over. But it's not not bad, and I don't feel the need to try to be some hipster douche that says everything was better way back when.

Then you just must not care about anything. It's been funny, and years from now when these rerun they'll remind me of all the stupid shite that happened in 2014, and I'll get a good laugh out of it.
You sound just like the people that say the first few seasons are basically unwatchable.

Maybe you've just turned into a miserable person with no sense of humor. if you haven't laughed this season, I don't know what to tell you.

Fun fact, they made an episode that describes you perfectly:

I thought they stopped the alien thing years ago. Or I just stopped noticing.
I remeber "Mr. Derp" but didn't realize that was the first time "derp" was used. They also invented "baba-chomp"

I'm not trying to be some cool contrarian. I can certainly see why people still like it. I however do not like it at all. Can you understand my point of view?
As a long time fan, you know "not not bad" is not how we used to describe South Park. Come on man. There has been a quality drop off.

We are only talking about South Park. But yes. It did used to be better. For a number of reasons. They switched formats. I'm not abig fan of the new format. Weekly made, current event episodes with direct continuity that largely ignores character development in the plot. That's not what South Park used to be.

The first few seasons of the show are hilarious. I dont know why you think that.

I told you a few times already why i feel the way i do. They switched formats completely. The new format is just not my cup of tea.

I chuckled a few times. But laughed? LIke laughed so hard i couldnt breathe? No, i havent.
Again. Try and understand my position before you just get defensive. I know why you and some people still like it. Try and see it from my point of view.

It sounds like you just need to "go back" and watch those episodes. They are moving forward and you can't keep up.

people have different opinions obviously. My neighbor (who loves British and dry humor) thinks the Terrance and Philip centric episodes are the best, but his all time favorite is the Pip episode. Those three are easily the bottom three for me, but he could explain why they are genius.

I knew way too many of those things, now I feel like a loser

Losers don't watch South Park. You sir, are a winner.
