I'll buy simple and a character. Have you people forgotten Jan.9,2012. He showed his true character
hardheaded, small minded, inflexible, and vindictive. I wish him well going forward but I am not ready to bestow sainthood just yet.

Best part about Miles is that fans like you, and the media don't eat him up. He trolls the media, plays the part of nice guy but aloof coach, and lets people see what they want.

He is still the best coach overall that LSU has ever had. He still captained the ship during LSU's Golden Era, through some of the most exciting interesting and thrilling seasons we have ever had.

More importantly, he loves life. He is a great father, family man, leader, and a symbol of absolute class in an era and sport where the combination of these traits isn't just uncommon, but scarce.

Bama had our number on 1/9. Get over it. The circumstances stunk all around. We beat them on their home turf, then had to play them again. The situation had much more to do with the outcome than coaching.

But hey, like Miles, IDGAF what you really think. I will go on being thrilled with LSU and Coach Miles.

And you can go on thinking your opinion on who you "bestow sainthood" to matters to anyone...

Seriously? I think he should have given Lee a shot in the game, but that doesn't make him all of those things. It's probably a good thing he was flexible enough to put JJ in the first time against Bama.

Many of us completed counseling successfully and moved on. I suggest you do the same.

Unfortunately there are still a few of you out there that will never appreciate Les Miles until the program is back in the depths reminiscent of of the Curley Hallman era.....and even that might not do the trick.

I can't understand how you people can judge a coach on one game against a great team based solely on the magnitude of that game. It wold be like Bama fans judging Saban for losing a BCS game to a Mountain West opponent. Gene Stallings lost a BCS bowl game by 27 to fricking Louisville. Bear Bryant lost a NC game to Nebraska by 32 points. Bobby Bowden lost a national championship game to his biggest rival (Florida) by 32 points after beating them in the regular season. I can assure that FSU fans don't harp on that. UF fans don't harp on Steve Spurrier's 38 point loss in a NC game either. They would give their colective left nuts to have him back in Gainesville.

I was devistated by the 2011 championship loss. I almost wanted to buy in to some conspiracy theory. I originally could not chalk it up to simply a bad game. I went to the pre game pep rally the night before the game and coach Miles was trying too hard to act like he had been there before, which he had in '07. Perhaps playing Bama for a second time simply took it's toll. He got out coached and we were outplayed. In this day of social media, there is no way any significant team dissention could have been covered up. that's simply my opinion, but none of us can ever prove it.

every coach loses some football games. miles truly believed JJ was the best chance to win that game. he was wrong. but to say he is small minded, inflexible and vindictive is just wrong. so some people really like les miles as our coach and you don't. I get that but to slur his character with insults that you can't prove is very small minded. this isn't a political race.

I had no idea that butt hurt lasted this long. Maybe he can't get Boudreaux's Butt Paste way up there in the frozen north.

mnstar, apparently Miles' lovers either have a long term memory problem, in that they don't possess one, or perhaps they do and fear to a paranoid degree that Dinardi etal., will return if they dare critique their "dear leader" in a logical manner and they also don't quite get, that is, understand the difference between having character and being a character.
