Jagd Tiger, you and I have very, very different ideas about what Blackness means. Your definition of Blackness is my defintion of ghetto. At least ghetto is the term used by folks that I know to describe Black folks with this mindset.

look at most of the successful "ghetto" blacks, they are either rapper/actors, athletes, or politicians, blacks who are successful in mainstream society outside of entertainment/politics are the ones who ignore "blackness" and focus on their own work and ability.

They have found success in what "ghetto" blacks call 'white society', this is exactly what Barkley is talking about, people like the guys neighbor that assimilates into white suburban culture.

Politicians? I don't understand why you would lump politicians in this group. FYI, folks like Barack Obama, Eric Holder, Susan Rice, Clarence Thomas and even Sheila Joackson Lee had to attend the same elite/Ivy League schools that big-time White politicans had to attend to get where they're at.

You'd be surprised by how many successful and middle class ones don't ignore this "blackness."

They are probably just better at playing the double consciousness
