Some background:

10 team standard scoring league

Can only have 4 RBs on the team so Hillman is available

I currently carry:

Charles
L Bell
Ellington
Davis

Davis is purely there to handcuff Charles. Should I drop him and try to pick up Hillman (for at worst trade value) or should I stand pat and hold onto Davis for insurance in case Charles goes down?

I'd grab hillman.

Even if Charles goes down, I might still start hillman over Davis. And I wonder if Davis would even be picked up if you dropped him.

I assume you don't start all 4 RBs.
Davis is really the only elite backup in the NFL.

His production has shown to not fall too far from JC's.

If you start 3 RBs, I would consider picking yp Hillman in case one of your other 2 RBs get injured.

If you only start 2, and mainly flex a WR or something, I would strongly consider holding onto K. Davis because it locks down the consistent production from the RB position that the 2 KC RBs are capable of (and the OL/play calling).
