Compare him to JJ long before comparing him to Mett...

(and yes those are Zachs numbers in his first 8 games. his ninth was vs bama; we went 24 for 35, almost 70 percent, 1 TD, 0 INTs. of course some of you would have probably boo'd him off the field before that)
Some did.
If Jennings throws for 70% in any games left with 300 yds, I'll change my mind about him.

Damn its so much fun watching these guys trying to refute you and whiffing all over the place.

Comparing Mett to AJ is pretty dumb man.
Explain to me why? Don't use a talent argument because Mett stared down receivers, over threw most of his deep passes, and had terrible pocket presence as a 4th year junior.
No, explain to me why, and don't use "because he has a stronger arm".
It's a good comparison because even a guy with that many years of learning (spent a year with Bobo at UGA too), still didn't look much better 8 games into 2012 than Jennings does now 8 games into 2014.

Just one time I wanna hear Jennings shout Omaha Omaha

Bad comparison is bad. They are completely different QBs. For one Mett could throw a deep out and it would take AJ two throws to get the ball there.
WTF does this have to do with their performance on the field? Minus the difference in cmp percentage (50-57) they have near identical stats. Mett has more passing yards because he has thrown it more. Both QBs have had a good amount of drops. Jennings can throw the long ball well, Mett could throw the intermediate well.
I expect Jennings to be better than where he is now, but really? We are really defending a fourth year junior in Mett? People were calling for Rivers several times in that 8 game span. He had a 3 game span where he was completing less than 48% of his passes with 1 TD and 2 ints.

And the ball landed 48 yards from where he threw it. Now if he could throw a 20 yard out on a dime, then we could compare him to mett
Why does it matter, when we are comparing performance on the field? Would you have taken Logan Thomas over Aaron Murray because Thomas had a huge arm?
WTF does his arm have to do with his production?

To be fair, going into the Bama game in 2012, we had seen Mett perform well early in the season. His first few games that year he he had completion percentages of 73%, 66%, and 77% so you knew that the ability was there, he just needed to get up to SEC speed. Jennings on the other hand has had only one game where he has thrown over 55% completion percentage. His best game is 61.1% against ULM. We have still yet to see Jennings do anything impressive as a starter, so it's hard to have faith that he will all of a sudden do against Ole Miss what he hasn't done in 8 games this year. In Mett's case, we were just hoping for him to return to the form he was early in the season.
Honestly, completion percentages so far have been 42%, 53%, 61%, 50%, 40%, 50%, 47%, and 50%. Do you really think it will be significantly better against the best pass rush in the country?

Also if Mett had a WR like Dural in 2012 he would have gone off.

he had Jarvis and OBJ

He doesn't need to throw for that much for this team. The combination of the defense and the running game doesn't require it. I see more potential with AJ than what JJ did, but we can win games similarly to how we did in 2010 and early 2012... without Gary Crowton calling plays where no one knew what was going on.

Are you really trying to compare Jennings to Mett? LOL. That's some funny shite. I mean, maybe their similar if you take Mett's arm strength, accuracy, and ability to read a defense away. Maybe. Also, one Mett had fricking Stud as his offensive coordinator and no QB's coach. Jennings has been tutored by one of the best QB coaches in history from the day he stepped on campus. This comparison is just ridiculous.

So Ole Miss is the best past rush and the best run defense. I guess we'll be lucky to have positive yardage in this game.

We've discussed the arm strength issue.
Mett did struggle with reading defenses. Auburn was not a good team that year, and we scored 12 points, two of them on a safety. You really think Mett read that defense well?
I'll concede he isn't as good with accuracy as Mett was at probably any point, but that can improve too. Completion percentage should get better as he's able to better find open receivers rather than trying to throw to a preferred target and then giving up.

Difference is Mett showed flashes of greatness all throughout the 2012 season. We haven't seen any of those flashes from AJ. Not yet at least. Can he possibly turn it around and make me eat my words? Hell yes, but right now it seems unlikely. Kid doesn't have the physical tools needed to become an elite QB and the worst part is he knows it. And it makes him hesitant to try anything even remotely risky.

I will say 2012 was a waste of a season. Absolutely no good reason why the offense should've sucked so bad. No good reason why LSU only got one good year out of Mett. Ridiculous.

Are you just pulling up posts boxcar used to make defending JJ? The same single digit IQ seems to be on display.

We were basically one play (a much more realistic one than Miss. St.) from playing for the SEC championship, which was essentially the national championship. That said, the offense was also painful to watch at times that season.

We've seen them, they're just not as numerous.
I don't think we'll see him in the NFL, but he could be like Mauck or Randall or someone like that.
