WWTOTD - Phone number problems

Last year I moved to BR and switched my phone number from 985 to 225, and in the process Verizon hit me with a number that was used by "Shuwanna Allen" before me. Apparently this lady is still putting down my number as her number and I'm constantly getting calls from credit agencies, lawyers, booty calls, etc. It's getting to the point of 5 credit agencies calling twice a day looking for her and despite my pleas to tell them that this isn't her number anymore, they keep calling.
I called Verizon and they wanted to charge me an absurd amount to change my number since I just switched. I've tried talking to these people to tell them that this isn't her number, but they don't believe me. I'm getting ten phone calls per day from automated services with no options to speak to someone. Text messages galore from credit agencies. Text messages from guys looking for her (which I have messed with a few and sent them looking for her at various places like bowling alleys, bars, walmarts, etc). Any time that I try to block the numbers, they just switch numbers and keep calling...and calling...
I'm seriously about to just throw this phone into the river. Is there any other way to get this crap to stop?

I had the same problem when I got my current phone number. I would get calls from colored folk at all times of the day or night. If you want them to stop calling you're gonna have to use the N-word... a lot.
It does work.
It does work.

I have the same thing only with a lot less calls. Had the phone for three years and still get collection calls for a Phillip Morona. Deadbeat owes medical bills.

donotcall.gov would be my first step...
Secondly, when they call? Ask to speak to a supervisor and explain the problem..
I can't believe they're not just taking your word for it right off the bat that the person they're calling to collect money from "doesn't use this number anymore"

you're gonna have to use the N-word
I mean, we established years ago that the "R" word was "Ravioli"

If you've got an iPhone 5 you can block numbers. Not sure about other iPhones though

This happened to me on a work cell.
Just tell them she died. Calls stopped

Yeah, I try that but they just call from other numbers. It's insane - literally had the same credit agency call from three different numbers today.
Sending the idiots to different places is pretty amusing, but the constant phone calls day and night is getting ridiculous.

Same thing happened when we got out daughter a phone. Some stripper left a voicemail telling "Brad" where she was dancing that night. Maybe Brad should have quit the strippers and blow before his credit collapsed as we received numbers calls from credit agencies. Eventually they stopped.

I had the same thing happen with my land line back when I was at LSU...ultimately had to change the number...
call your phone provider, explain and ask them to change your number...if they give you any shite at all, complain to the public service comission...

Text a selfie back and say you think they have the wrong number.

Think of the person you dislike the most and tell them that Shuwanna is at their phone number.
