I just added the power folding tow mirrors.
They look like the F250 mirrors from the pic. Are they the same size as the F250 mirrors? How much $?

They are the same size. In 2013 or so, i think, ford changed the f150 max tow mirrors to mimic the f250 mirrors. I bought these from 1A auto for $470. Ford wanted $1500 + to add the tow mirrors with power fold.

Gone are the days of getting a 'nice' truck for under 30k.
No shite my man.

I drove an '11 F150 Supercrew 4x4 Platinum with 49k miles the other day and they wanted $32,600 and wouldn't budge on the price. My buddy had just bought a new one a couple days before for $36k. I thought about it and said "frick it, I'm buying new".

Sterling

I had a great experience with Sterling for my new Jeep as well. I'd rather make that drive from Baton Rouge over dealing with the folks over at Brian Harris any day.

To me, they are more than worth it. With no boat on the trailer, i couldn't see the trailer behind the truck when backing down the ramp. Backing up, i could never see the boat side opposite of where i was turning and i could hardly see cars behind me (and my boat isnt as big as a fiberglass bay boat). I can see everything now, no more blind spots.

Um...fuel economy. That's why they did it.

Except early testing/reviews have said it's getting 23 mpg highway

Nice truck OP. That's a great deal for that truck and the options.

Well then boom, problem solved.
Not when you have millions of them on the road with defective parts that you know of yet refuse to recall them.

Aren't timing chains supposed to be replaced at 100k anyway?

(fwiw I didn't read the links and don't own a ford)

Timing belts are...

Timing chains are typically supposed to last the life of the vehicle.

I'm thinking about making it a "faux Platinum" by painting the bumpers to match the body and putting the chrome door molding on the bottom like the Platinum.

I get parts from Ford at a 20% discount.

Best looking color in the fleet IMO. Don't let the ecoboost haters discourage you. My 13 ecoboost is a fricking BEAST and have no issues. Great looking truck bub

Eta: I'm selling my factory running boards if anyone is interested.

It's a beautiful color "when" it's clean and in sunlight.

Looks like black if no light/sunlight on it though.

You don't like the Platinum/FX4 look?

If I decide to do it, I'd add the door molding first and see how it looks. My only concern is that the molding is more of an aluminum finish and not chrome, like on the grill of the Platinums. Not sure if the aluminum finish would look right.

My brother-in-law came over this morning in his '11 King Ranch with the Ecoboost. He's got 95k on his and has had some problems. Said sometimes on interstate, it starts missing and loses power and he has to pull over and shut it down and restart it. Said he wouldn't buy another Ecoboost.

Hope they've improved the engine since '11.

They've addressed all of the issues with the early production models.
