That's very possible, but then that would fall mainly into a class discussion (where is SFP when you need him).

In my experiences it was always non blacks painting the narrative for what "black" should be--what they saw on TV. My opportunities and experiences always begged to differed.

One thing I know is tbis-- we are not monolithic

I think there is an element of truth to this, I notice some people "black it up" when black guys come around, but black people really are the ones promoting the stereotype...just look at the numbers across the board especially with consumer behavior. Black people aren't the unfortunate victims of misconception or stereotypes.

I know you're referring to black people. But we could be as Americans, united and "colorblind" if it weren't for all the separatists and segregationists and racists and supremacists. The ones who are white, like David Duke, get marginalized and ridiculed. The ones who are black, like Sharpton, Jackson, Holder, etc. get legitimized.
