we dont have anyone that can cover Nelson or Cobb-going to be a long day im afraid
Posted on 10/23/14 at 2:11 pm to Double Oh
Ok look I know Nelson has all the numbers right now but hes really not that good, hes just a product of this system and Rodgers. Three years ago everybody was saying the same things about Greg Jennings being one of the best in the league blah blah blah. What has he done since leaving Green Bay? Nothing that's what. Nelson runs a fricking 4.5/40 for Gods sake. Do you think of Jimmy Graham as fast? I think not, he also runs a 4.5/40. So all of you need to just stop trying to give this kid with the Jerry Rice crown seriously.

Product of the system? Jerry Rice? No one said anything about that, but to deny the fact that he's a top 10 receiver in the league right now is flat out stupid.
He runs a 4.5/40, guess who else runs a 4.5/40? Dez Bryant, AJ Green, and Brandon Marshall. Alshon Jeffery and Antonio Brown run a 4.48 and 4.47, respectively.
Greg Jennings went into one of the worst QB situations in the league. Not even Calvin Johnson could save that atrocity. Look at what happened to Randy Moss when he was in Oakland.

By the way, Jerry Rice ran a 4.7

Yes he is a product of their system. you send him to any other system outside of us, the Patriots or Denver and he would be average at best.

Stat wise yes, pure talent no and I really don't care if your bitch arse thinks I'm stupid

All better WRs than him

You just proved my point, Great QBs make mediocre WRs better. Which is what he is and always was. Same with Nelson. Same with Colston, Graham and Meacham, Drew has made all of them what they are. You send them somewhere else and they are middle of the road or worse.
Point is Rodgers is what you have to worry about in this game. You pressure him and hit him we win this game. which is what teams have been doing to us by the way.

You forget who threw for 6 TDs and 480 yards against Detroit in 2011 with those "scrub" players. Now are you saying Matt Flynn is great too?
Extreme athleticism doesn't determine who is a great player. Jerry Rice wasn't extremely athletic, but his route running and work ethic were 2nd to none.
You wanted to use a 40 time as a measuring stick of how bad he was compared to other players and you got proved completely wrong, because half of the "elite WRs" are just as slow as him.
Put any great WR in a shitfest QB situation, you get shite back. You put them in a decent situation, they still produce relatively well. Look at Vincent Jackson after he left SD, Mike Wallace after he left Pitts, Eric Decker may not put up the gaudy 1300 yards when he was with Manning, but he was on pace for ~900 yards with Geno fricking Smith. Of course there's going to be a drop off going from a top 4 QB to a bottom 4 QB, what top 5 WR went to a bottom 5 QB and still produced? None.
Brandon Marshall didn't have career high numbers in Miami either, or the touchdowns when he was with Cutler in Denver. Antonio Brown never got into the spotlight until after Mike Wallace became a diva, nor is he considered a top 5 receiver to anyone. Dez Bryant took 3 years to have a 1000 yard season with all that athleticism and an above average QB in romo throwing at him.
No one is denying that Rodgers is the cog to that offense. He has one of the lowest, if not the lowest INT% EVER in the league. To say Nelson and Cobb are scrubs are totally off. If they can get away with scrubs because of how awesome Rodgers is, why did they draft 3 receivers, all in the 2nd round, since Rodgers' has been a starter? He's Rodgers, he can get away with UDFA walk ons right?

I'm white you stupid mother fricker and Ive been one of the main posters on this page for over 7 years and have just stopped posting as much because of stupid fricks like yourself being on here all the time. For you to try to say I'm trying to troll is the most off base shite Ive read on here all year, and that's saying alot.

Did you even make it out of the 3rd grade? This sentence makes 0 sense, so you would take all the other WRs and not the best one in the league? Makes total sense.....

No I didn't I was talking to the people who said something about him flying by like he was super fast. 4.5 is not blazing speed. That was all I was saying.

I never said they were scrubs they are just not what everyone was making them out to be.

Ok for comparison name me one WR from Bradys first Super Bowl win without looking it up. They were a bunch of nobodys but Brady won a Super Bowl with them.
And I see you removed your statement about Randy Moss because he had 60 rec for over 1000 yards his first year with Oakland with Collins throwing him the ball, before he gave up on the field and started playing half arse the next year

You got nerve calling me stupid you dumb bastard. I said I would take him with any other wide receiver not named CJ Jr. I guess in your small brain I can try to understand how stupid you are. I'll break it down like I would for my 10 year old. I meant it would be Calvin Johnson as the best in the NFL. That's clear cut. THEN, I would put Jordy Nelson along with every other top receiver left.

I see whites on here put down white athletes and worship black athletes all day long. You being white is irrelevant.

I agree, he doesn't have blazing speed, but the second he gets behind you, its over. I've seen way too many broken coverages, a DB lets him slip by them, and he burns them for 40+ yards. Speed or not, he's fast enough to take it to the house if it happens. The difference between 4.40 and 4.50 is not that big of a difference.

Brady's #1 receiver in the 2001 season was Troy Brown. The same Troy Brown that was on the team since '93 and iirc had close to 1000 yards with Bledsoe the year prior. Technically you could say Terry Glenn was #1, but he was deactivated for being a dumbass. Btw that same Glenn was a 1000 yard receiver and had 92 receptions in his ROOKIE season, so he wasn't a scrub either.
Lets not act as if the Brady of 2001 was the reason why they won in the playoffs, that team had a solid run game and defense that clamped down.

The statement of Moss is still there, I never changed it nor took it out. That same Randy Moss wasn't putting up top 5 numbers, nor playing like a top 5 WR with Collins throwing him the ball. Oakland was a fricking hell hole, still is one. Randy Moss wasn't even top 10 in yards. Oakland wasn't even a bottom 5 passing offense, or bottom 5 in TD:INT differential in 2004 and 2005. Randy Moss gave up on his team, but he's probably the most athletic WR to play the game. Only maybe Calvin Johnson would compare right now to what Randy Moss was.

Even though Bledsoe was never to the level of Brady he wasnt a scrub either. He threw for 3000 yards every year but his rookie year and over 4000 two of those years.

That's an understatement

I agree 100%, and even though I hate him you have to put T.O. in this comparison also.

Yea glad somebody agrees with me that hes not that great.
Weve played several receivers who are head and shoulders better than him, and not all those receivers have really owned us.
Keenan Lewis can shut down Nelson, Lewis is a better corner than Nelson is a receiver.
Im just worried about the other dudes going off. And by other dudes I mean Cobb getting 100yds+ and 2 tastes of paydirt. Thats on R-Ryan to figure how to use PRob, KVac, and Raphael

the only two "better" WRs we've played against were Dez Bryant and Julio Jones. Neither of which we contained very well at all.
Julio - safeties were 50 yards deep
Dez - had to give more help to White, so we got beat on a late TD
don't be surprised if Rob Ryan makes Lewis cover Cobb for some time either.
