Basically, it involves the detectable ability of subatomic particles to spontaneously pop into and out of existence in a vacuum. The idea that matter cannot be created or destroyed is not technically true, though it is effectively true on the scales relevant to us. The (overly simplified) idea is that the creation of the universe was the sum of these quantum fluctuations. We can observe and measure spontaneous energy generation from spontaneous atomic generation in vacuums in laboratories. The energy emerges effectively from no prior starting point or precursor.

And, do you need to take a leap of faith to believe that this lecture explains how nothing became something?
Sounds like science has no answer to my question, without taking crazy leaps of faith!
