I don't believe the the NT advocates for no state punishment, only that individuals should forgive.

War is clearly advocated for in the Bible, and given that Jesus acknowledged the OT as infallible, he must have believed that.

I do agree that Jesus seems to advocate against self-defense, though.

What about when he clearly makes it a point to contradict the law of Moses?

Or when the OT contradicts itself?

It's all so confusing. Let's just believe whatever is most convenient.
