But those Christians would be considered freaks and radicals by most Christians today.

Most Christians, at least those in the west, don't measure up to the standard of belief described in the New Testament. Many are merely cultural Christians, and many of those who genuinely believe take their faith only as seriously as social norms allow.

If biblical Christianity is the complete, 100% truth, the vast majority of "Christians" will be surprisingly cast out on judgement day. At least I'll be able to say "my bad" and escort myself downstairs

Jesus essentially advocated for separation of church and state. Render unto Caesar, etc. And I have no fricking clue how a government can live up to Jesus's standard of forgiveness. It's not possible. The establishment of state Christianity in Rome and elsewhere was the beginning of the end. It's been culturally rationalized ever since.

I believe if I am attacked, I should defend myself. I believe criminals should pay for their crimes. I believe war is sometimes justified and necessary. These beliefs are incompatible with the word of Christ. I'm just honest enough to see that.
