You do realize that between 1955-1976, our helmet was changed 6 times. Old gold to yellow, add numbers, change number font twice, add tiger head logo, current design.
Oh, and we changed the tiger head this year, which shows that we're aware the old tiger head was unrecognizable. But the new one is barely better.
I'm not talking about doing an Oregon-type thing. Just change it up a bit, and keep some traditional aspects.
Tradition is good, but old and stale isn't.

This is completely irrelevant to me and my opinion as I personally like the helmet as is and certainly don't want the tiger eye replacing the head.

Such action doesn't show the old logo as "unrecognizable" at all. You've concluded that out if thin air and personal bias. And that they just introduced the new logo should be indicative that they plan on using it for some time. They were also using it to replace the abomination of a logo they had before and wanted uniformity in logos, from the football helmet to the basketball jerseys to the tv logo.

I never once mentioned tradition in my reasoning. I don't see the roaring tiger head as old and stale at all. They went modern and gave us one of the shittiest and most embarrassing logos in major college sports for over a decade.
The tiger head is fine and I would venture to guess most fans agree and prefer it.
