Ft. Polk under the edges of the hills up there. Rock ledges. Overhangs with a little "cave" under them. Places like that. They will come out on warmer fall days to sun on the rocks before going back in to hibernate. Not hard to find up there and there are plenty of them.

Hi, new guy here.

Those snakes definitely look like diamondbacks to me.

If so, it is real surprising to me that they came from the Ft Polk area. Ft Polk should be too far west for natural populations of the Eastern Diamondback and too far east for the Western Diamondback.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm just positive they are diamondbacks.

Maybe someone released some over there years ago.
