Why so late? I remember having homework every night at that age....but my parents made that be the first thing we did when we got home. You wanted to go play with friends or watch tv....do your homework first

Well, for she doesn't get home until about 4:30-4:45 and she's usually so damn tired when she gets home from school we give her some downtime to take a nap before we start on her homework for the night. She hardly ever gets an opportunity to go outside and play.

Where is she going between leaving school and home? She can't do some of her homework there?

went through the same shite with my daughter the last two years. It was fricking insane. This year she's in the 5th grade and something has changed with her homework load.
Huge weight off of all of our shoulders.

The problem here is not the homework

what?
why is an 8 year old taking naps? what is she tired from?

Not to be rude, but i think she might not be the brightest crayon in the box. Find out if her friends are taking that long too. if not, she may be a little behind.
