Yes there is, but going all out spread isn't the issue. LSU's issues are that they aren't dominant enough to run over teams anymore. The arms race is not unbalanced like it used to be with other teams have as much or possibly more talent.

The offense needs to be variable, meaning it needs to have creativity injected into it. This is the same crap every year, and while a true all out spread isn't going to be great against every defense, having teams back on their heels and unsure of what is coming is what LSU lacks. Plain and simple.

Even with Mett, OBJ, Landry and Hill last year, LSU got shut down by Bama after they wore down and nearly got shut down by a bad Arkansas team.

LSU doesn't have a decided advantage in talent, and that is where this offense stops working unless you are creative and have a legit QB.
