Wagers on their own performance? Like shaving points???

And that is what keeps you out of NCAA trouble.

LSU should get the death penalty for this one:
"Two former LSU football players placed wagers between themselves regarding their performance in games throughout the season, but no penalty was assessed to the university or the players."
"No payments were made for the wagers, according to the document. The NCAA enforcement staff requested the school file an official secondary violation, the document says."
How freaking stupid and out of control is the NCAA?

Nothing to see here. Move along.

quote:No, like "I bet you I'm going to make more tackles than you are this week." Or, "I'm going to catch more passes than you."

This is another example why the NCAA is working hard to make itself irrelevant.

Sounds like our golf bets

Wait, so was this just two dudes saying "I bet you $100 I get more sacks than you this year?" Or something to that effect?

That's what it sounds like.

If anyone needs anymore proof that the NCAA is a joke look no further...

This isn't abnormal. Most of the big schools report numerous secondary violations each year.

The point is that some of these "infractions" are downright stupid and only demonstrate the NCAA's over the top power.
It is too big, too rich and too powerful.

Yea like tweeting a recruit to come play with them is a violation is the dumbest shite.

Mingo and Montgomery had a bet about who would get more sacks and who would get drafted higher...

Yep, nothing to it. 15 in a year is probably low.

Not as bad as the NCAA finally allowing cream cheese be served at the breakfast training table for the bagels that are put out. Before this or last year it was a violation to serve any sides for breakfast bagels.
