When I went to the City vs Chelsea FA cup match last year at the Etihad I noticed a few of these things. They had a stage with a band playing. An announcer that gave out prizes and t-shirts and stuff. A big square next to their shop that had restaurants and seating for fans.
It was pretty damn close to an NFL gameday experience. Very "Americanized". I can see how they would win this award.
I much preferred going to the pub and getting hammered and singing and walking to the game at Old Trafford though. Much more of a "local" feel if that makes any sense.

It's hard to be intimidated as a visiting fan when the home team fans don't show up.
