and yep, you fell into the trap I am talking about. Our offense also looked like deep fried dog shite wrapped in bacon.
It was. Defense and special teams created field position advantages and scored points all season long.

Yet, because we won, half the fanbase wants to act like our previous problems have suddenly been resolved, when, once again, we won despite displaying the exact same deficiencies.
Uh, we ran the ball a hell of a lot better last night.
And, we were adequate at stopping their run game.
Both of those are improvements.
I don't think we have more than 1 or 2 wins on the schedule.
Half of our fan base is whining because they just can't accept that the major issues aren't going to solve themselves this season. Accept it. It's a given.

BOOM........
HaniGriff is an over weight radio jocky. You (OP) put your faith in him?? Well considering you want LSU to run a spread with our middle school QB that started last night you've answered my question. Did you ever think Jennings can't do any more than what we run??? No I'm sure you (OP) didnt.
I don't give 2 shits if they are running an offense that "is all Jennings can handle". It's still the staff's fault for putting this horrible offense in the field. We had Jennings, Harris, rettig, and rivers, and this is the best option we have and the best scheme we can run?
Does that make it ok because they are giving Jennings all he can handle? HELL NO. The highest paid staff in the country with a stable head coach should be more prepared and better equipped than this.

The only time the pros run a one wide receiver set is in goal line or shirt yardage, not third and 12 from the thirty

Ole miss beat us last year with about 8-9 freshman playing on defense against our veteran offense. The youth excuse is shite nowadays for college football
And they went 8-5 (3-5) last year. Midway through the season the youth excuse isn't as relevant, but well we are just now getting to that point.

Agree.

Unless LSU had an NFL QB with NFL WRs, all of whom must be juniors or seniors, the passing game doesn't function. Its the biggest problem.

We have no functionable QB. Have to work within that limitation.
Im so tired of hearing this. Like Les is doing us some kind of favor.
Someone, anyone, answer a simple question... Whose fault is it that we have no functional QB?
There is one answer, it's very simple, and that's all people are pissed about. It's not Jennings, Harris, etc. fault

Rettig transfers because of they are "going to a more mobile qb style type of offense...." RUN I-FORMATION. The coaching staff and philosophy is contradicting with the players and talent they recruit. Dillon Gordon (like 300lbs?) is basically an extended tackle.
And again, congrats on the 100th win with the same scheme (6 weeks straight no deviation) and talent. I hope it continues to get better. I wish youth would stop being an excuse. You have a veteran line. All true-freshman players are capable of starting on any team in the country.

Ole Miss and Auburn both were running out of scholarship players a couple of years ago and now are at or near the top of the SEC.
LSU theoretically has had a recruiting advantage over Ole Miss in the past and should develop young talent every year so you don't have inexperienced guys having to step in and play. When the old talent leaves, someone prepared steps in. I'd say our recruiting rankings have been very overrated in the past or the staff just can't develop the talent.

1 out 3 in the SEC isn't bad I guess.

It's not the kids, it's the coach. Lsu recruits premium players at every position on offense and most years delivers what we are seeing this year.

more of a case of attrition catching up to them. The change in recruiting tactics by several of the top teams to insure you're signing 25 guys every year, on top of the NFL early exits, has put the team behind the 8-ball. That's one reason I'm glad we're seeing Godchaux, Clark, Adams and others getting time now, vs. juniors who haven't played as much. Experience is the biggest factor in having success.

You have to adapt to the times, I think Les is doing that this year. This is why the younger guys are getting quality time.
Three and gone should be the expectation now. Develop them early so you can "reload."

players are successful (see 2013) it's all the players. If the players struggle it's all the fault of the coaches.

I've about decided that's the only pass Jennings can throw on a consistent basis.

This scheme has lost to MSU and AU- it's going to lose to Bama , ole miss and maybe Arkansas.
