Most of you here won't be old enough to remember this but a drunk fraternity guy at LSU some years back tried to ride a ostrich. He broke its neck and killed it. It was an "Experimental Animal" owned by LSU. There is a special statute for killing one of those. He WENT TO PRISON over it.

If that animal hadn't died, this guy would go down as one of the GOAT LSU legends.

He did not go to jail, heavily fined and did lots of community service instead. His dad was a very prominent member in the US House of Representatives, which may have influenced sentencing.
