What, are you saying we're unrefined? We're uncultured? Is that it? You think we can't be knowledgeable on this subject matter, because Italy is the foundation of western culture? Because wine is the beverage of the sophisticated? Well you're right. I don't know shite about this. I will defer to another.

Do you have cities picked already?

I don't remember the name but when I was in Florence we did a wine tour out into the Tuscan countryside. It included a visit to two vineyards (one Chianti and one Chianti Classico) and a meal in Panzano at the famed "crazy butcher's" restaurant. It was a pretty awesome, the restaurant was fantastic. I believe it was through "Tuscan Wine Tours". Don't remember the price either.

that is what i'm looking at. it's a 4 day tour but will be like 1600 bucks and thought i could get cheaper than that. i'm tempted to just book it though because the reviews are awesome

We did a one day, but we were already in Florence. I don't remember the cost but it definitely wasn't $1600. Probably like $500-600.

that would be about right then with 4 days bed and breakfast with 4 different vineyards. its just a wakeup call seeing the price in writing

Definitely do the Boone's Farm tasting if you can.

Our travel agent recommended viator.com for these tours. We did a couple from Florence, they were outstanding. Highly recommend both, the Cinque Terre day was beyond incredible:
1) Wine Tour
2) Cinque Terre
Please bring me some Vermentino. Thanks!
ETA: We also used Viator for our Vatican tour, Rome tour, and tour of the museums in Florence. Awesome company--they have great tour guides.

I'm a little bit north of you right now for a conference in Switzerland . On the drive to where I am, a guy who lives here was telling me all about his vacations to Italy and how it was his favorite place. If you want, I can ask him or some other people here (there's a few italians) what would be a good wine tour. I'll have to get back to you tomorrow though

that sounds great man! we were thinking about switzerland tours too. but i messed around and wouldn't do the wait for my resident permit here and my time for the schengen is out so if i go into switzerland they may not let me back in italy lol
although my visa to italy is good, just travel to switzerland not so much lol
i do want to see the swiss alps though. lake cuomo was awesome and saw some of them (at least i think)

I'll see what I can do, the conference is from 8:30am-8pm. I'm actually in the alps right now, here's a pic I took on Monday. You should really just try and sneak on over

Lake Stresa which is def recommended for anyone even near it. Look it up and go

Enjoy your trip but do yourself a favor, as much as you enjoyed the wine, do not buy any to ship home. When you realize how much you spent to ship it, your belly will burn so hot that not even the finest super tuscan will douse it.
