That is definitely a possibility.

So if Wells and future Eddie are working together, and if like Fewer Kilometres posted, Wells is creating a suit that is the actual source of RF's powers (which the suit is one of the different versions of how the RF does get his powers, but not the original version), then why does Wells need Barry alive since Barry would no longer be the reason the RF has his powers? I guess it could be both Barry and the RF are needed for the impending crisis...maybe?

Throwing in time travel into the equation sure does make it a headache trying to put all of the possible pieces together.

ETA: So if it turns out that you are right and Wells is not the RF, then who do you think Wells is? Someone the showrunners just created for the show, or someone from the comic universe?
