Animal control guys swear by marshmallows or a mcdonalds cheeseburger for bait.
The above have caught 5 opossum in my parents house in the heart if BR.
One time a LWF agent picked one up from a trap. Daughter asked what they were going to do with it. We said going to live in the woods with all of his possum friends.
CB caps may work though.
