Name 1 positive thing that can come out of the pitch dive. You have to take your eyes off the hole to catch the pitch and you can't run play action off of it. We are the only school in the country that runs that terrible play.

blocking scheme for that play is a bunch of bodies falling on each other. Terrible play.

High risk exchange for minimal return.

What's rather interesting is that when Cam showed up the intent was to remove it from the offense precisely because it doesn't set up play action.

This tells me there is some credibility to the idea that Les has his hands all over the offense. This isn't something that fits Cam's philosophy.

I fricking hate that play with a passion. It is shite. Do we run to the outside ever. All we do are dives. No stretch runs, tosses to outside, or counters.

It's a really effective play if it's ran correctly. Former LSU O-Line have said so.

I say we put the running back about 15 yards further back and have the QB punt it to him. Then we set up a wall like a punt return!!!

No we aren't. See Georgia and the 49ers

What is the high risk there? Certainly not fumbling.

Look i dont like it either, but when running it with fournette it was the only play that worked. Also Hill made a living scoring long td runs on the toss dive.

It makes the play action pass totally inept? Wait that's a bad thing.

It does seem to get positive yards more often than not though. By running it makes others ineffective.

Haha I'll bet since LSU put it in the system the total average for that play is 2.0 ypc. The offensive lineman look so uncomfortable blocking on that play.

Anyone catch the 3rd and 3 where it ended in a cloud of dust and it was then 4th down....then the camera goes to Les and his mouth goes to the mic on his headset and he says..."why didn't we pass"? Rewound it a few times and each time, that's what it looked like to me and 3 other people in the room. Thought that was interesting.
