Miles inherited a program that was the class of the SEC West. 2001 we won the SEC. 2002 Arkansas beat us on a hail mary to win the West (yes I know we beat Kentucky on one as well). 2003 LSU dominated the West and won the BCSNC. 2004 LSU was one play away from winning the West. The team had won two SEC Championships, 1 BCS Bowl Game (2002 Sugar Bowl) and the BCSNC within the five years prior to Miles taking over.

Well said NEGAmileser. Saban basically was a hair away from 4 straight west titles.
