i keep seeing this. What did he rebuild? LSU was littered with NFl talent before saban got here. Did we not play a season before 2000?
Do you understand the difference between taking over a team that just went 7-15 the previous had had 3 winning seasons in the previous 11 year would be a rebuild? DiNardo doesn't get enough credit, but LSU was forced by Saban and Emmert to make changes it needed to compete at a high level. Miles has reaped the benefit of that more than anyone.
But I digress, LSU was loaded with a 2-deep in 2000 like it was in 2005.

Hallman was one of the first coaches to implement an indoor practice facility. Saban isn't some genius. Any idiot knows you have to pump money.in to win.
I will say this. LSU was never as bad as Oklahoma state. Miles went to 3 straight bowl games after making 1 in 13 years. He also had to compete against OU. LSU had no one.
The tools were in place at LSU before saban. That's all. They were here when miles took over and he has a better record. What more do you want? If miles didn't have a better record than saban I would agree. But he does, so he continued to push the program further.
