Went on my last high-altitude hike of the year (pics)

Most hikes above 4000-5000 feet close up until next summer soon here, so I decided to do my last one a couple of weeks ago. The highest elevation of this hike was a little under 7000 feet. The hike was up in the North Cascades in Washington.
And a bonus. This wasn't on the hike, but it was a lake on the drive there.

That last picture is of Diablo Lake. It's literally right off of Hwy 20, so if you ever get a chance to visit that area, definitely pull off at the lookout parking lot.

4 wheel drive and snowshoes my friend and you've got plenty of access. Nice pics btw, I need to get up in that area. Planning on climbing Stuart, Glacier, and Rainier next summer.

Nice. I flew from Seattle back to Sonoma county last wednesday. The pilot took us over My Rainier, Adams, St Helens, Hood, Shasta, etc. You could see all of the lava flows and the beautiful mountain lakes. I miss the south, but the west has some beautiful outdoors terrain.

True. I went snowshoeing a few times last winter. My girlfriend at the time got me a pair, but then took them with her when we broke up so I need to buy a new set

Is this a trick question? But no, not the same girl that you're thinking of.

N. Cascades is the most underrated park in the lower 48. Great photos.

Can you recommend some other places up there in the NW to go hiking during the winter months?

Snowshoeing, day hiking, or backpacking?
Posted on 10/6/14 at 1:57 pm to TDawg1313
Probably dayhiking. When you say backpacking, you mean overnight hikes?

What about a weeklong summer backpack trip?
