The guy didn't have a warrant and was not the guy police were referring to as having warrants in the video.

With all the black folks getting shot by cops lately, would you be ready to get out of the car?

You know the Nazis also made the Jews wear pieces of flair, too?

So, lemme get this right. You get pulled over and you're not obligated to show ID?

Who the F thinks this?

So "you look like a guy with warrants" is good for you?

well yeah. why wouldn't it be?

For instance if there was a kidnapping and the vehicle they are in matches it or your description matches it...if it was my kid i would hope they would be willing to stop every vehicle and person that matches that description. I would think you would want that too.

I hope you go to jail one day on a routine traffic stop.

I'm not defending anything. You're just injecting pointless hyperbole into this thread.

Because they went on a fishing expedition on a traffic stop because they wouldn't comply with an unlawful order.

You seriously are part of the problem.

He was the passenger, and he was well within his rights to not show ID.

You don't understand the concept of constitutionally protected civil rights do you?

The law thinks this:

quote:

"The lawfulness of an initial stop will not support a “fishing expedition” for evidence of crime. State v. Bevan (1992), 80 Ohio App.3d 126, 130, 608 N.E.2d 1099. Once an officer lawfully stops a vehicle, the officer must limit the scope of the stop to its underlying justification. Florida v. Royer (1983), 460 U.S. 491, 500, 103 S.Ct. 1319, 75 L.Ed.2d 229. Thus, the stop can “last no longer than is necessary to effectuate the purpose of the stop.” Id. An officer may expand the scope of the stop and may continue the detention of an individual only if the officer discovers reasonably articulable facts that give rise to a suspicion of criminal activity. State v. Robinette (1997), 80 Ohio St.3d 234, 241, 685 N.E.2d 762.

They have to commit an offense to have to show ID. A cop has no right to ask for your identification without an offense.

Here's the key.
quote:

Sandusky police Assistant Chief Phil Frost said Officer Christopher Denny stopped Said's car because her Ohio license plate number showed she had an expired Ohio driver's license.

I did not know this was a primary offense. I thought it had to be a secondary offense meaning she had to get pulled over for something else for them to charge her with this.

Those pigs wanted to run him for warrents and they wanted to search the car for drugs. They had no probable cause to search or legal bearing to identify him unless he did so wilfully.

He didn't bend over and forfeit his rights like the majority of the sheep do in this country so they used their trump card *obstrucing* and now he will get put in jail and have to fork out $$$ to a lawyer to fight the charges or plead out if he can't fight them.

All because they profiled the couple's race and decided to stop them for some BS traffic stop to see what kind of dirt they could find.

I didn't realize being polite to a douchebag police officer overstepping his bounds and illegally detaining you was a legal requirement.

whether it's a 'right' or not doesn't come into play. the people pulling this video crap are just trying to get hits and show up the cops instead of talking to them and being polite, show your id and then both parties have a nice day.

Clearly wasn't the case. They had no legitimate reason for the stop.

- "her license isn't valid"
- "you were driving without your lights on"
- "the dog hit on your car"

Which one was it? That cop didn't have anything and was just pulling stuff out of his arse b/c the guy wouldn't OBEY HIM.

And to resort to threatening to take someone's child away from them... utter fricking bullshite.
