Oh, did mention Oregon State had to miss 3 extra points for Saban to win 22-21 at home? How about that miracle game day strategy at Kentucky?

Well hes going to coach at least 6 more seasons after that game so yeah i could say 2005 was the beginning of the end of the Les Miles era. Wow we have the dumbest fricking fanbase on this planet.

Why wouldn't we? We still would have won the SEC and finished 12-2 after smoking Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl with two 3OT losses.

Great season even if we don't get into BCSCG just like 03 would have still been a great 13-1 SECChamp season even if we don't squeak past USC because Syracuse and Hawaii won or whatever luck happened to get us in that time.

The more interesting question is would Miles bashers hate him as much if Pitt doesn't beat WV?

Think about it. LSU fans became completely unreasonable due to winning 2 NCs in 5 years after not winning 1 in almost 50. Hell, we'd only won the SEC twice in 20 years before 2007.

If LSU fans don't get spoiled and greedy and assume NCs come easy and we're a program that is a lock to get one every few years, the anti-Miles crazies may never have built LSU in their minds into something it isn't and never has been.

Legit question.

Also, would they hate him as much if we'd lost the GOTC instead of upsetting a team that was better than us on the road so that 1/9 would have never happened?

Finish 12-1 smoking Michigan in the Sugar Bowl with only an OT road loss to eventual BCS Champs? Not a bad final chapter in the Lee/JJ chapter.

Legit question.

What if Michael Ford's toenail doesn't hit the sideline on the way to the end zone in OT?

What if OKst K hooks that kick an inch to the left against Iowa St (if he even missed it at all)?

What if that OKSt plane doesn't crash a day before the Iowa St game?

Legit questions.

What if Auburn doesn't pay off the refs in 2006?

What if Katrina and Rita didn't destroy our state and LSU's schedule in 2005?

Legit.

People always say Miles is lucky. I think he's the most unlucky poor bastard in all of college football.

We had no business losing to UK and Arky that head. Remember Charles Scott not getting carries at UK in second half?

Backing into the NC and winning is what has the faithful holding on to Miles today. 2 loss national champion. Any other year would have been a choke. As soon as he got here, he wasn't accepted until he produced a NC like Saban did.

Wow. Miles has me complaining about his National Championship. Mind = blown.

I think you're right. Actually had a conversation today with somebody saying that's when they lost complete trust. I personally have never been a lover of miles but thought he always won the games he was supposed to and was a better than average recruiter. This year just looks too much like our 3-8 1999 season to be ignored.

Kind of like Bama in 2011 and 2012??? No wonder Bama fans hate Saban's lucky arse so much

And speaking of backing in, Saban's 03 LSU NC squad, as much as I love that team and season, completely shite the bed at home against a 5 loss Zook team that was far worse than UK or Ark in 07. We couldn't score a point on offense and let a true freshman QB slice up our D.

Because of that no show we needed a laundry list of games to go our way the final few weeks of the season to squeak over USC to get into the BCSNCG.

Because of that no show against a mediocre team we have the asterisk with the only split title of the BCS era because half of the country, at least, wasn't convinced we were the best team.

Personally, I'll take the undisputed 2 3OT loss National Title where we showed up and played our hearts out every game and were clearly the best team in the country over the one in 03 where we completely didnt show up for a game and most people still consider USC to be the better team.

Didnt Les' sister die in a car crash in 2011 too? Might have been 2012.

Yeap saw the article, "Perfect season doesnt fill hole in Miles' heart."

frick our fans!!!

Our head coach had an amazing season with the death of his sister on him every step of the way.

Winning the seccg isnt backing in. Not playing on the last weekend and getting voted in to play a rematch is backing in.

Yeah we had 2 losses, so did everyone but tOSU.

It all filters from the man who has swallowed this burden for months now. Choking it back through the spring and summer time he so enjoys while watching his son Manny play baseball for an AAU traveling team. Hiding it while traveling to watch his daughter Kathryn—who has Olympic aspirations—swim in national meets; or while hosting an annual event with his wife, Kathy, that raises nearly $100,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network. Few coaches in this grind-it-out, sleep-in-the-office profession value family like Miles. That’s what made the life-changing event of April 22, 2011 such a personal paradox. The man who places high value on relationships; who has made friends with Snoop Dog and dances to Soulja Boy with his team in the locker room; who put his arm around beleaguered quarterback Jarrett Lee after starter Jordan Jefferson’s arrest two weeks before the season opener, and calmly told Lee, ‘You’re going to have the best season of your career—and we’re going to win with you’ wasn’t the brother he wanted to be. Miles found perspective again through tragedy. His team then learned it month after month during this complex championship run. “Life throws you curveballs when you least expect it,” says LSU defensive end Sam Montgomery. “And sometimes, it beans you with a fastball right in the head.”

we have the rt guy

quote:

“I know he was hurting,” said LSU wideout Russell Shepard. “He means so much to me, to everyone on this team. It’s so much more than a player-coach relationship. It’s life, you know?”

Wtf? When did the rant turn into the tiger penthouse. Same thread over and over. Why do we continually start new threads about the same thing. Just post this in the other 1/9 thread.

Our fanbase's balls were taken that night without question. We need to get over it.

Think about it this way, what if Oklahoma St didn't lose?

What if we got those two yards for a first down in 2012 that would have ended Bama's season?

You say one thing would have changed our pumpers on Miles, but how about those two things I said? We win the West in 2012 and beat Okie St in 2011. Miles is then seen as a coach who won 4 division titles in the toughest division in the country. Along with two National championships.

Neither things happened, so 2 by bring it up?

Actually not. Saban's legacy will forever be our first national championship in a half century, putting LSU back in the spotlight of a perennial powerhouse, and leaving Lsu in such great shape that even a moron who doesn't know the time out rules can win 99 games.

Irrelevant. We LSU fans use things that actually happen to craft our opinions. You Negatigers actually have to avoid Les' win-loss record like the plague and ask "what if?" to try to make your shitty points.

We count the wins. You play make-believe.

These "fans" are also trying to discredit winning a national fricking championship too. I don't think I have ever seen fans of a team try to discredit or downgrade an accomplishment like that because they irrationally don't like a coach.

Lsu has awful fans.

2007's championship was the worst thing that ever happened to these people, who will live the rest of their lives with fewer LSU credit hours than Les Miles has national championships.
