Posted on Facebook and a friend thought I should share it on here. I do not post often but I read the rant pretty much everyday.

Sports are like a roller coaster, sometimes things are going really fast and everything is fun and wild; sometimes teams are slowing climbing up to a see a great view at the top then they suddenly shoot downward and become a team that is struggling for every win. The NFL is a great example, almost every team that has ever won a Super Bowl has at one time or another had the number one pick both at a point before winning the Super Bowl and at a point after winning a Super Bowl. Some of the recent champions will have a horrible year at one point and eventually sink to the bottom of the league, because that's just how sports work and teams appear to always be in cycles.

The Saints won today, and while it appears that they could turn their season around, it still seems unlikely that this year could be anything special. However, this post is actually more about LSU.

I have been watching LSU and going to home games since 1997. I have seen seasons in which LSU only won 3 games and I have been at National Championships and celebrated huge LSU wins against the greatest teams in football.

Is this a down year for LSU? Absolutely, but that's sports. We have lost 21 players who have left early to go to the draft over the last 2 years. That's more than double the amount of the the team that has the 2nd most. It is always going to be difficult for a team of young freshman and sophomores to win. Give these guys some time and the next two years could be something special.

The year before Auburn won the SEC championship and went to the National championship they didn't win a single SEC game. Texas and Michigan, both traditional power houses that have won numerous titles are getting destroyed by smaller football programs week in and week out. Mississippi State has been largely irrelevant for decades and after being unranked three weeks ago is now the number 3 team in the country. Alabama has lost their last 3 games against ranked opponents and we just saw a weekend in which 5 of the top 8 teams in the country lost.

Love it or hate it this is college football and I have still never been more proud to be an LSU fan and I will be in that stadium from alma mater to alma mater each week whether we are winning by 40 or losing by 40. Hope to see the rest of Tiger Nation staying strong and holding the fort down with me.
GEAUX Tigers and have a great day.

We lost 21 players early to the NFL? Thought it was 18?

I think those 18 were the drafted ones. I believe the others were UDFA.

Agreed Blaine.

The rough time in any relationship polarizes people. Its like a centrifuge. It separates the die hards from the posers. Being frustrated is one thing, but going all out insane like the rant has been going is another. I have never been happier to be an LSU fan, as it doesnt matter win or lose, thats the place I got my degree from, and I love the school.

Most of the people who get livid, probably wont ever get "it". Im sad for them.

Your points are all valid

And since the new hire have lost 2 games, won sec title, played for national title and are currently one of the best 2 teams in the nation...with a DB playing QB

Exactly. Could you imagine how good our offense would be with gus as our coach.

This is LSU. There is no reason for us ever to be out recruited be Auburn or especially Miss. St. Have you ever been to those places? I have several times. I will stop here before I say something that will get me banned.

With the talent we have had it would be scary. Not to mention malzahn is smart enough to hire a great dc's and let him handle the defense
