I've only been collecting for about 2 years but I've been blessed with a pretty decent collection. I have about 100 that I really care about and then another 100-150 of some randoms records I was given, through TD actually. My record player is pretty lo quality though and I'm looking to upgrade within the year. Right now I play it through a super old stereo I got when I was young but it surprisingly still has great quality sound.

When I lived in the Garden District I would go to Atomic Pop Shop at least once every 1-2 weeks. I've bought many albums online that I could not fine elsewhere but I don't enjoy it as much. I think the whole ebauty of collecting records is going to the record store and looking through thousands of records for something you want.

When I lived in BR, there was really no place that sold vinyl like Atomic Pop and now Lagniappe... well, maybe Honeymoon Bungalow did... Euclid is very good in NOLA.. I gotta be in the right state of mind to go in with the intent to just comb through the bins...

When I travel around the country, I always enjoy going to various record stores... have had some great finds over the years..

Ive had friends that have scored the mother lode at estate sales, I have not been as fortunate...

I agree I can spend hours in a record shop.
