New arrival...Sony TC-K909es cassette deck (1994-1996)
This deck was the last, and top of the line for the classic Series VI “ES” wood side paneled cassette decks—sporting Dolby B, C, S, and HX Pro, closed-loop dual capstan tape drive, powered loading door, manual fine bias calibration, manual fine level calibration, record EQ calibration, 3-heads, laser amorphous heads, linear “real time” counter, and IR remote control.
In the Sony line, this deck was only (ever so slightly) bettered by the TC-KA7es (Released in Japan only w/champagne colored faceplates and losing the wood side panels—made from 1994-2000).
Traveling Wilburys—“vol. 1”...Wilbury Records/Warner Bros., cassette recorded with Dolby HX Pro...1988

Dayuuum... I’m assuming it sounds good.

I only played it for about 20 minutes...so far so good, but in my limited exposure, it isn’t in the same league as the Nakamichi CR-7A Deck (and it shouldn’t be).

Those guys are pretty good...Jam_On on Sirius would play them from time to time.

Yeah, kind of got a ‘70’s soul type of vibe going on. Good album.

How do you like those Dalis?
Posted on 7/18/20 at 10:19 pm to Marco Esquandolas
Been looking at upgrading to a big boy 2.1 setup finally .. Looking for reccomendations on turntables, stereo receiver and speakers..
Went today and listened to some KEFs R3's and B&W 705s .. Think i like the KEFs better just sounded brighter to me. Also trying to decide between Marantz or Arcam receiver.. Torn .
Turntable I'm lost on..
Any help from you guys would be much appreciated..

Can’t say anything bad about ‘em, they’ve been good to me. If you’re looking for something in that price range, I would definitely recommend you consider them.

I like the Kef R series! I auditioned the R11’s and really liked them. If they came in a good looking finish I’d have them now.

Wish I had the room for them honestly..
The house we bought the builder put all kind of built-ins in the house and the only option for my livingroom is bookshelfs or in-wall..
On the turntable looking at Pro-ject.. Anyone using that particular brand?

Man, what a fantastic album. Personally partial to No Other.
I've tried to find an original pressing, just ridiculous

I know you and others itt are big Chet Baker fans, so wanted to let you know about this new pressing if you weren't aware already. The Mr. B album was released in 1984, and apparently never released on vinyl in the US.
It was just reissued last month with VMP doing 750 copies and Bull moose doing a limited 100 copies. Last I checked they're still available on the Bull moose website.

Karnivool - Sound Awake
One of my favorite albums. With covid going on, had to go with a tame setup for now hopefully upgrade stuff eventually
