Ryan Adams and the Cardinals "Cold Roses" 180g vinyl.
Had never listened to any of his work but heard good stuff on here about it, so I picked up "Cold Roses" a few weeks ago.
What. An. Album.
Listened to it all The way through yesterday, but had a friend over for beers, so this is my first time soaking it in.

Up next...
Danzig--self titled Debut as solo artist...Def American Recordings, 160g LP, 1988.
Since I happened to be visiting a customer of mine in the Lower 9 this past week, I figured I would drop in on Euclid Records as they weren't far away.
I was kind of in the mood to buy an LP that had a little heavy rock kick, but didn't know what I wanted. After about 20 minutes, the guy who was working behind the counter changed the LP out that was playing throughout the record store.
A few seconds after the new album started playing, I said to myself, "Hell yeah--Danzig!...just what the doctor ordered..I'm going to go look for a copy now"
Well, not so easy--the album, as I then quickly read about and learned, is not easy to come by now. He only had the one copy which was playing.
This copy is also one of those stamped with "Promotional Copy--Not For Sale", making it even more "rare" if you will (note the gold stamp imprinted at the bottom center of the cover). It also has a sheet of paper in it with some scribblings from the record production company as well--not that this adds value, but I have never seen this before.
Soooo...$60 later, I am the proud owner of Danzig's hard to come by Debut LP in Mint+ condition!
The guy behind the counter thanked me for saving him some money as he said that he was probably going to buy it for himself if no one bought it in the next couple days...he already has a copy, but was contemplating a second one for his collection as the value of this LP is on the up.
Another little tid bit--I believe Glen Danzig was the first non rap, non gangsta musician to sign with Def American Records. The label at that time was looking to broaden their horizons, and Danzig was supposedly having difficulties finding a new home to produce and record his music that would give him full autonomy with regards to the entire record--it worked out for both parties it seems.
I know, CSB, but I figured the record nerds in this thread may enjoy my story!
...and FWIW, this record is worth every penny I paid for it--it friggin' rocks!!

Ryan Adams is my favorite singer songwriter ever. Highly, highly recommend his solo and Cardinals work.

If I lent any inspiration toward that spin, I feel damn proud being among so many folks with a wealth of musical knowledge.
It's one of my favorite albums of the last decade...

I've seen people post pics of it before, on Instagram or something, but it wasn't until I saw your post that I checked it out and bought it. Nice record to pour a glass and chill to...
