The Stanford area should be colored for Cal. We have like 8 fans.

Looks inaccurate. Houston is definitley more Aggie than longhorn. Same with my hometown.

I'd bet anything that Oregon's out of state support seems to come from bandwagon No. Cal people who probably don't keep up with college football.

Did you click on Baton Rouge?

Seems to be just as many "dick rider fans" next to Tiger Stadium...

You purposely clicked on Lafayette...obsessed.

So. Cal fairweather fans.

San Diego County would be solid USC if this had come out 8 or so years ago.

I have a hard time believing some of this. For example, Georgia Tech's numbers are VERY low, even around Atlanta.

Buckeyes are more popular outside of Ohio than I figured they would be. All the way down to North Carolina and the Tampa/St Petersburg area loves them some Ohio State.

I grew up in North Carolina and as much as I hate 'em, UNC is the most popular team in the state. Orange County, NC is where their campus is located, but the most popular team there is Duke at 19.8%. That doesn't make any sense, unless they specifically excluded UNC from the results.

UNC is the most popular basketball team in the state for sure. But all those ecu and app bandwagon fans actually have football teams to root for

Since people are talking about NC, from the top of the NYT article:
