Meaning did it put us on the map as an elite program? What had we done prior to that for over a decade? Not much.. We were hungry!
2001 SEC vs, Tenn
The game against Auburn that year was amazing as well...starting off with a 15 yard penalty that led to an onside kick. (That year we lost to Ole Miss and then won 4 straight SEC games to win the west)...We made ATL with 3 loses...I didn't think that was possible. LOL
L Toefield was a beast! Davis was very quick..Reed was unstoppable. Davey had a canon and could make plays. Clayton was a freshman.. Faulk and James at LB.. Peterman on the OL.
Lav and Hill were on that team too.
Lot of great players
What stuck out to me was the intensity of the hitting from the defense and the overall excitement of the players and the fans.
Special times!

It was definitely the game that started UT's long and slow slide into mediocrity. Other than winning the East in 2007, UT didn't have much to cheer about after that game.

was the start, UGA 03 was the blast off.

I think it was the 2003 UGA game. That SECCG and that 2001 team are great but it was a shocker and LSU could not follow up on that the next season.
That UGA Game was the first top 10 clash in TS in a loooong time... the nation watched and LSU became LSU that day. A tough physical, defensive led gutty team that plays 'till the final gun.
