Imo kickoff return yardage shouldn't be tallied in "all purpose" yards. It's misleading. The other team can score 8-9 touchdowns and if the returner gets it out to the 20-25 yd line, it'd be like 140ish yards tallied without having done anything besides get out to the 20 which one would get anyways with a simple knee.

You know that you can't break a big return or score on a kick return if you take the touchback, right?

Completely agree.

I've been saying this for years. If your defense is awful and you give up 70 points, and just make average kickoff returns, a player can pile up a ton of "all purpose" yards. Very misleading.
